Decade for Change

The Allstate Foundation Domestic Violence program is partnering with the National Domestic Violence Hotline to host Decade for Change, which brings together thought leaders for a series of workshops to discuss and develop goals and strategies to help end domestic violence in the United States during the next 10 years. The Decade for Change kick-off took place on October 4, 2006 at the White
House Summit.

The goal of the Decade for Change is to measurably reduce domestic violence by the year 2016 and support public awareness initiatives of the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH). Through its Decade for Change Summit meetings, the NDVH brought together over 100 representatives from key sectors to outline a coordinated, united national effort to reach this goal. Together, the Summit panelists developed a series of recommendations critical to stemming domestic violence in this country. The panel is in the process of developing approaches, strategies and statewide action plans to implement outcomes on a community level
